Local Authorities

Traditionally, Local Authorities have been reluctant to work with specialist rating auditors, acting as an ‘ordinary’ ratepayer.

Research has shown that some authorities feel uncomfortable taking advantage of such services in order to reduce their own rating liability and achieve savings or refunds.

However, with the increased emphasis on reducing costs and increasing efficiency, it has now been widely accepted as best practice.

At Exacta, we understand the pressure that billing authorities are placed under in the current financial climate, due to many of our Analysts having previously worked in the NNDR teams.

The work we do is entirely funded from any savings we achieve. If no money is recovered, there will be no cost whatsoever and you can be assured that the authority’s business rates liability is correct.

A number of authorities have already chosen to work with us and have seen significant results. This, along with our customer-focused approach and level of rating experience and expertise has led to the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) endorsing our work.
